




JOHN CHUA
Film Composer & Pianist
Born in 1985, John Chua Gheng Hong began his musical journey as a classical pianist at NAFA School of Performing Arts, Singapore. At the age of 18, he was awarded Open Champion at the 2003 National Piano & Violin Competition and graduated with his Bachelors in Piano Performing 3 years later.
He then received an overseas scholarship from MDA to pursue his Masters in Film Scoring at Royal College of Music, London. In 2012, he won the Best Film Score Award at Soundtrack Cologne 9.0, one of the leading international film music festivals in Germany.
He has since worked as a freelance film music composer and has scored for films and animations showing at major film festivals all over the world including Korea, Japan, China, Europe and America. More recently, he scored a 2016 feature film, “My Love Sinema" which was released in Singapore cinemas and a 2017 feature documentary, "I Want To Go Home" which premiered at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival.
